In the midst of the storm of the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the calls by President Cyril Ramaphosa was to make sure that the agricultural sector is fully function to ensure a food secure South Africa.

As part of answering the President’s call KZNDARD MEC Bongiwe Sithole-Moloi today embarked on an awareness creation visit to the Pietermaritzburg Fresh Produce Market to engage with the participants in the sector on intervention to curb the scourge of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This engagement was supplanted by a visit to the Soil Fertility and Analytical services lab in Cedara, where the Department creates its own Sanitizer to assist Extension and advisory services workers, farmers and staff to maintain the required hygiene standards to ensure that we flatten the curve of Covid-19 in the Province of KwaZulu-Natal.
