Agriculture Risk and Disaster Management
Purpose
To focus and ensure an integrated, co-ordinated and well-implemented Departmental Disaster Management function aimed at preventing and/or reducing Risk of Disasters, mitigating severity of disasters, emergency preparedness, rapid and effective response to disasters and post-recovery in Agriculture, thereby contributing to the preservation of lives, optimal agricultural land uses, sustainable food security, sound environmental management and integrated rural development, according to the principles of Co-operative Government.
