In commemoration of World Food Day, the KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon. ThembenikaMadlopha-Mthethwa together with the MEC for Social Development, Hon. MbaliShinga, visited a project based in Ladysmith in the Gcabhaneon area on17 October 2025todemonstrate sustainable planting methods.

The visit seeks to empower and support subsistence farmers through the distribution of farming implements and seeds — reinforcing the Department’s commitment to food security, sustainable livelihoods and community development.
