The KwaZulu-Natal Legislature convened a Youth Parliament at the Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local Municipality in Bulwer, on the 20^th June 2025. The MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa, is part of the meeting along with other MECs as part of the legislative arm of the provincial government.

The Legislature's core mandate is lawmaking, oversight, and public participation. Key issues that the young people are grappling with, also expected to be high on the agenda include youth unemployment and agricultural opportunities and farmer development assistance.
