KwaZulu-Natal Government undertook Operation Sukuma Sakhe in uMgungundlovu District. As part the proceedings, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development led by MEC Super Zuma on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, kicked-off by visiting Mazidle-emhlabathini Community Project based in the Dambuza Youth Development centre in Dambuza, Ward 21.

This visit was part of witnessing the exceptional work done for youth, women and children in the area.

MEC Zuma also went on to examine the proposed reconstruction of the Sliding Catchment Wall which has had dire environmental effects on the people of Dambuza in the recent past.

The Hon. MEC then proceeded to Dambuza Community Hall where he engaged with the community on obstacles they face on a day-to-day basis, to then seek remedial action with all sister Departments for the issues raised by the community.
