The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Super Zuma commemorated Workers Month by engaging with employees of the Department on 24 May 2023. The Department has a mandate to ensure food security, eradicate poverty, unemployment and inequality within the communities of KwaZulu-Natal. The theme for this year’s Worker’s Month is “Working together to create jobs and fight poverty.”

This engagement provided a platform for Hon. MEC Mr Super Zuma to have an interactive session with employees and to listen to the trials and tribulations experienced by employees. MEC re-iterated to all employees, major strides that the Department intends to unpack and simplified the Department’s strategy with the focus of One Home One Garden, Food Security and Poverty alleviation.

MEC Super Zuma urged all Departmental employees to continue executing their duties to the best of their ability at all times. “When you do your job, you play your part in assisting the Department improve service delivery to all communities within the Province. Workers at the forefront are the ones ensuring implementation and are the first reflection of the Department in our communities, which is why we are here today commemorate you, our workers,” said MEC Zuma.
