The MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development in KwaZulu-Natal Mrs Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa, was amongst the dignitaries presiding over President Cyril Ramaphosa's Title Deeds Handover Ceremony held at the eSayidi TVET College, uMzimkhulu Campus on Friday, 20 March 2026. kaMadlopha-Mthethwa played an important role as Co-Programme Director for the President's Handover Programme, which included the handover of 17 thousand hectares of land and Title Deeds for three community land claims - the St Paul Community Land Claim, Ngunjini Community Land Claim and Nzimankulu/Vierkant Community Land Claim. These land claims saw 2 800 people benefiting.

Another highlight of the event was an exhibition marquee erected by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Inter-governmental Relations (IGR) unit in KwaZulu-Natal, displaying fresh produce and crops from farmers drawn across the Harry Gwala District.

kaMadlopha-Mthethwa said that the market stalls at the exhibition showcased the District’s rich agricultural production that includes vegetables, crops and meat products.
