KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa, was the esteemed Guest of Honour on Saturday, 19 July 2025, at the Women Influential and Artes Awards held at Sibaya Izulu Theatre, eThekwini, celebrating women who drive positive change across various sectors. These awards shine a spotlight on women who excel in academia, health, arts and entertainment, as well as philanthropy, inspiring others through their remarkable achievements.

As Guest of Honour, kaMadlopha-Mthethwa presented special awards, acknowledging the organisers for recognising the invaluable contributions of women who often go unrecognised. She expressed her desire to see the awardees continue their vital work, uplifting communities and creating lasting impact.

She also used the platform to inspire attendees to cultivate vegetables in their homes and places of work and worship, as part of the One Home One Garden programme.
