One of the key stakeholders for Agriculture and Rural Development, African Farmers' Association of South Africa’s (AFASA) top leadership in KwaZulu-Natal, held successful talks in their first meeting with Honourable MEC Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa at Cedara on 26th August 2024. This was one of the many marathon meetings that the MEC will have and will include other key and strategic stakeholders in efforts to hear their challenges and find common ground where there are bottlenecks. Both parties have had amiable conversations and talks aimed at developing and supporting the sector.
On her right, KaMadlopha-Mthethwa is flanked by AFASA's Provincial Secretary Mr. Donatusi Dlamini, on her left is the association's Provincial Chair, Mr. Mbongeni Sikhakhane. The Head of the Department, Mr. Zibusiso Dlamini (far right) was also present at the crucial meeting.
AFASA is a Black farmers’ association established to commercialize the developing agricultural sector and facilitate the meaningful participation of Black individuals within the mainstream commercial agribusiness space.
