The KwaZulu-Natal Legislature has welcomed the 2024/2025 Agriculture and Rural Development Budget Speech Vote tabled by the Departmental MEC, Honourable Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa at the province’s Legislature in Pietermaritzburg, on 15 August 2024.

Part of the R2.6 billion Budget for 2024/2025 will be spent on farmer development, providing technical support and development to small-holder farmers and prioritizing the downtrodden. KaMadlopha-Mthethwa committed her Department to fulfilling three priorities of the 7th SA Democratic Administration namely, inclusive growth and job creation, reducing poverty and tackling high costs of living, building a capable, ethical and developmental state.
