Operation Siyahlola Programme

MEC Super Zuma visited the Harry Gwala District under #OperationSiyahlola to assess progress on various projects set to benefit communities on Tuesday 19 March 2024.

MEC Zuma started the day at Pandarosa Farm in Ward 4 which specialises in grain and green pepper.

The farm has created job opportunities for the locals and the MEC commended the commitment displayed by both project leaders and the workers.

The MEC proceeded to Bernhald Farm in Ward 10 which will soon be harvesting soya beans under the Department’s Multi-Planting Season Programme.

The next stop was in Mashumi Ward 13 where the MEC met a group of farmers who have been under mentorship but are now ready to focus on individual projects. Their programme began in 2020 and has grown to 27 members. The MEC’s last visit was at the Ndwebu Dip Tank in Ward 14. The dip tank which is currently under construction, will be completed in April and will service a number of farmers in the area.
