The KZN Provincial Government undertook Operation Sukuma Sakhe in UGu District. The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Mr. Super Zuma, today visited Ward 20, Mbotsha, Port Shepstone where a young emerging farmer who specializes in crop production took the MEC on a tour of his workspace to see some of the work done. 

With this One Home One Garden initiative, the Department wants to assist households to be able to produce enough food to meet basic household food security needs and where viable, to sell the surplus for generating income. As part of One Home One Garden initiative, MEC Super Zuma handed over farming implements, seeds and seedlings to the farmers in order to improve food security and eradicate poverty in the Province.

He further proceeded to Mbotsha Community Hall where he engaged with the community on programmes, services and projects the Department has for them to overcome some obstacles they face on a day-to-day basis.
