MEC KAMADLOPHA-MTHETHWA CALLS FOR STRONGER TEAM WORK TO ADVANCE SERVICE DELIVERY IN KWAZULU-NATAL

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Hon. Thembeni KaMadlopha-Mthethwa engaged with the Department’s Support Teams during a brunch held on Tuesday 11 August 2026 at the Dundee Research Station in the uMzinyathi District.

The engagement marked the first of its kind, bringing MEC KaMadlopha-Mthethwa together with the Department’s Support Teams, from key support functions such as Finance, Human Resource Management and Business Support Services.

The gathering offered an opportunity for the Hon. MEC to interact directly with officials, share strategic priorities and gain insight into the work of teams whose contributions are integral to the day-to-day functioning and overall performance of the Department.

MEC KaMadlopha-Mthethwa emphasised the importance of working collectively as one team, highlighting that effective service delivery depends on strong coordination, collaboration and commitment across all areas of the Department.

“Every function within this Department has a role to play in ensuring that we render effective service delivery to the people of KwaZulu-Natal. The work of our support teams is just as important as our frontline services because they provide the systems and support that enable the Department to fulfil its mandate. We must therefore continue working together, strengthening collaboration and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.”

The MEC further recognised and commended officials for their dedication, encouraging them to continue upholding professionalism, accountability and excellence in the execution of their responsibilities as the Department works to strengthen service delivery across the province.
