The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms. Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa, has expressed congratulations to the provincial Matric class of 2025.
The provincial matriculants achieved an outstanding pass rate of 90.6% rating KwaZulu-Natal number one across the country while the uMkhanyakude District, where kaMadlopha-Mthethwa serves as MEC Champion, was rated second position nationally.
MEC kaMadlopha-Mthethwa paid special recognition to fellow MEC for Education, Mr. Sipho Hlomuka and the Premier of the Province, Mr. Thamsanqa Ntuli, for their significant roles in supporting the education sector. "Congratulations to the Premier and MEC Hlomuka for a remarkable feat achieved by the class of 2025. As a sector, we welcome all those who aspire to pursue careers in agriculture; our colleges are open and ready to assist first-year students.
I would also like to specifically acknowledge Mr Motha, the Department of Education's District Director in uMkhanyakude, for his exceptional work in improving the District from third to second position nationwide. We commit ourselves to supporting their efforts towards achieving their educational goals. We also acknowledge the challenges they face and as the Premier alluded, we will confront these challenges head-on."
