On Tuesday, 25 March 2025, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development MEC Thembeni kaMadlopha-Mthethwa conferred qualifications to students who have successfully completed their degree, diplomas and various learnerships programmes. Fifty-six students were conferred with diplomas in a formal graduation ceremony style. The Department continues to provide valuable financial assistance to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Agricultural Diplomas are offered through Inkosi Owen Sithole College of Agriculture and Cedara College of Agriculture, while also providing financial support to needy students through bursaries from AgriSeta, having allocated R500,000 for students. The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Land Reform has also contributed R700,000, while the Sugar Industry Trust Fund for Education sponsors 10 students annually.
