The MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Super Zuma and KZN Legislature Speaker, Ms. Nontembeko Boyce conducted a service delivery programme on 11 July 2023 at uMthonjaneni Local Municipality. They visited numerous household gardens and eDubeni Dip Tank in Melmoth under King Cetshwayo District.

The primary focus of the engagement was to create awareness in households in a plight to produce enough food to meet basic food security needs. Furthermore, MEC Zuma strives to enhance livestock farmers by improving livestock quality through thoroughbred bulls in rural areas and to bridge the gap between commercial farmers and emerging livestock farmers.

MEC Super Zuma encouraged residents to take part in the One Home One Garden initiative, which has the potential to address not only food security, but also to create job opportunities especially for the youth.
