KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube together with MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr Super Zuma, held an engagement with farmers and Agricultural stakeholders in the Agricultural sector at the Msunduzi Sports Field in Mandeni, Ward 18 on 04 March 2023.

The aim was to engage on obstacles they face on a day-to-day basis such as livestock theft, load shedding and food insecurity in KwaZulu-Natal. With this programme, the Department will mainly focus on constructing agricultural infrastructure and infield roads which will improve access to the market thus, enabling farmers to transport produce. 

During the Agricultural Indaba, Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and MEC Zuma officially launched the Yellow Plant Programme to assist farmers that were severely affected by the recent flood. MEC Mr. Super Zuma stated that the Department will implement a strategy that will be District based. Each District will develop an infrastructure plan that will talk to construction and maintenance of access roads for farmers in the Province.
